PLTW Receives Silicon Valley STEM Innovation Award

PLTW Receives Silicon Valley STEM Innovation Award

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, the Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) recognized Project Lead The Way with its 2015 STEM Innovation Award. PLTW was honored to be one of only four recipients recognized on stage during the organization’s 11th annual fundraiser, Pioneers & Purpose: A Celebration for Education, at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.

The STEM Innovation awards honor organizations and programs that inspire students and teachers and whose work leads the way in advancing STEM education across the nation. Applicants were drawn from across the U.S. and highlight the vast field of those working to improve STEM education nationwide. Each of the four winners will receive increased visibility throughout the STEM community, and each of the not-for-profit award winners are eligible to receive a $5,000 grant to reinvest in their programs.

The Silicon Valley Education Foundation is a well-known nonprofit resource and advocate for students and educators. Proceeds from the evening – more than $1.3 million – will benefit STEM education and make a tremendous impact for public school students and teachers across Silicon Valley.
