Preparing Teachers to Transform the Classroom ExperienceRegister for Core Training
Engaging. Reinvigorating. Empowering.
Our professional development is designed to create dynamic learning experiences for educators through powerful and flexible instructional support, as well as an ongoing professional community.
There are three phases to PLTW Professional Development - Readiness, Core, and Ongoing Training. This approach prepares educators to lead the engaging PLTW experience in their classrooms and also provides continuing support throughout the year.
Build Your Foundation Through Readiness Training
Readiness Training is a set of courses that introduces teachers to the PLTW experience and provides content and software resources that teachers need in order to be successful at Core Training.
Teachers complete the self-paced Readiness Training coursework online before attending course-specific Core Training. Each Readiness Training course will require between two and four hours to complete.Enroll in Readiness Training
It's a transformational experience for the way you teach.
The teacher is always the key, and Project Lead The Way has such a phenomenal training program for teachers.
The networking and building of meaningful relationships during Core Training was only the beginning, and I feel that it will continue to grow for years to come. I am honored that I get to be a part of such a great teaching community that inspires our children for the future.
Engage in In-Depth Learning Experiences Through Core Training
Core Training immerses teachers in a hands-on, collaborative learning environment that challenges them to look at their classrooms in a new way. During this stage of professional development, teachers take on the role of a student, engage in in-depth exploration of PLTW coursework, and gain invaluable experience to take back to their classrooms.
Core Training helps teachers build skills and confidence around activity-, project-, and problem-based (APB) learning; prepares educators to become facilitators and coaches; and empowers them to bring learning to life through their PLTW program. Trainings are offered onsite or online across the U.S.
After successful completion of Core Training, PLTW teachers receive access to their Professional Learning Community (PLC), course-specific student and classroom instructional resources, and Ongoing Training resources all through the myPLTW Learning Management System (LMS).Register for Core Training
Continue the Learning through Ongoing Training
Ongoing Training empowers teachers to move beyond baseline knowledge and skills related to both content and pedagogy to deepen their understanding.
Ongoing Training consists of self-paced and live online resources that provide continued learning for PLTW teachers. Through Ongoing Training, teachers also have access to training resources related to course updates and new releases.
Unparalleled Classroom Support
PLTW provides teachers with comprehensive support and classroom resources. Through our online PLCs, teachers can connect and share experiences and expertise with fellow educators from across the nation who are teaching the same PLTW courses. We also offer a number of resources to help districts, schools, and teachers build strong PLTW programs including an Implementation Guide, best practices, regional and national events, and more. Additionally, our Solution Center provides support to help teachers focus their energy on what they do best: inspiring students.
