PLTW educators play an immeasurable role in creating transformative learning experiences in their classrooms through PLTW programs.

Each year, we honor and recognize outstanding PLTW teachers and administrators through the National PLTW Teachers and Administrators of the Year awards.  

Nominations are now open through May 17.

Award Categories

: Recognizes outstanding teachers and administrators across the U.S. who inspire, engage, and empower their students by creating transformative learning experiences in their schools through PLTW programs.
: Recognizes one outstanding education administrator who exhibits exemplary leadership and demonstrates a commitment to expanding STEM access and empowering students to develop key transportable and technical skills.
: Recognizes one outstanding teacher from each PLTW program who exhibits exemplary leadership and demonstrates a commitment to expanding STEM access and empowering students to develop key transportable and technical skills.
: Recognizes the PLTW teacher who best demonstrates a strong record of delivering an inspiring and empowering student experience, developing students’ technical and transportable skills, expanding access to PLTW programs, and transforming teaching.

Nomination Criteria

Who should submit?

Any educational community member (staff, faculty, or administrators) can nominate a PLTW educator for this award. PLTW also accepts self-nominations.

National PLTW Teachers and Administrator of the Year will receive:

An engraved award recognizing the recipient's outstanding achievement.
A celebratory recognition event planned in your school building.
Recognition through PLTW communications.
Public recognition of the recipient’s award.
NEW IN 2024 National Teachers of the Year and Administrator of the Year will receive travel and registration to the PLTW Summit 2024.

Award recipients also have the opportunity to:

Be featured in PLTW stories, promotions, and communications
Be recognized and honored at PLTW events.

Important Requirement To be eligible for consideration, all nominees must provide two letters of support from individuals familiar with their work. Letters should reference the nominee’s strengths, identify accomplishments, and highlight methods and experiences that directly connect to the criteria for selection.
