The 2026-27 PLTW National Awards nomination portal is open now through May 15.
The National PLTW Teachers and Administrators of the Year Awards honor and recognize outstanding PLTW teachers and administrators each year. Award winners are selected based on their student impact, role in expanding student access to PLTW and STEM opportunities, and transformation of teaching within their community and beyond.

Recognizes outstanding teachers and administrators across the U.S. who inspire, engage, and empower their students by creating transformative learning experiences in their schools through PLTW programs.

Recognizes one outstanding education administrator who exhibits exemplary leadership and demonstrates a commitment to expanding STEM access and empowering students to develop key transportable and technical skills.

Recognizes one outstanding teacher from each PLTW program who exhibits exemplary leadership and demonstrates a commitment to expanding STEM access and empowering students to develop key transportable and technical skills.

Recognizes the PLTW teacher who best demonstrates a strong record of delivering an inspiring and empowering student experience, developing students’ technical and transportable skills, expanding access to PLTW programs, and transforming teaching.
Nomination Criteria
Who is eligible to submit?
Any educational community member (staff, faculty, or administrators) can nominate a PLTW educator for this award.

National Awards Checklist
National PLTW Teachers and Administrator of the Year will receive:
- An engraved award recognizing the recipient’s outstanding achievement
- A celebratory recognition event planned in your school building
- A $1,000 prize (subject to all applicable federal, state, and local income taxes)
- Winners’ schools will also receive a $2,000 myPLTW Store credit
- Recognition through PLTW communications
- Public recognition of recipient’s award
