First application deadline is Nov. 6, 2026; one application can connect eligible schools with multiple funding options for PLTW Programs
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – For schools looking to expand career-connected learning, funding can be the difference between having a plan and putting that plan into action. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) announced its 2026–27 grant opportunities, giving eligible schools access to funding to help bring new career-connected learning experiences to more students.
Funding for Hands-On Student Learning Initiatives
PLTW partners with organizations and foundations across the United States to support qualifying schools in launching or expanding programs designed to give students hands-on learning experiences to build in-demand knowledge and skills for college and the workforce.
Over the past decade, PLTW has awarded more than 13,000 grants totaling over $152 million to schools nationwide. In fiscal year 2026 alone, PLTW awarded 1,150 grants totaling $12.64 million, helping schools launch and sustain high-quality STEM and CTE-aligned curriculum that prepares students for success.
Available funding opportunities may support PLTW programs in elementary, middle and high school, including:
- PLTW Launch: Introduces elementary students to STEM learning early on through hands-on, problem-based experiences.
- PLTW Gateway: Engages middle school students in STEM and career exploration.
- PLTW Computer Science: Develops computational thinking and computer science skills.
- PLTW Engineering: Introduces students to engineering design and problem-solving.
- PLTW Biomedical Science: Engages students in the study of human health and biomedical science.
Individual grants have specific eligibility requirements, and schools are encouraged to review the available funding offerings and submit application materials early.

Application Information and Deadlines
Schools submit one application for each PLTW program they are seeking to implement. PLTW then matches each application with the funding for which the school qualifies. Applications submitted during the 2026–27 grant cycle can remain under consideration for qualifying opportunities through June 30, 2027, giving schools additional chances to be considered as funding becomes available.
The first application deadline is Nov. 6, 2026, followed by a second deadline of Dec. 4, 2026.
