Opportunity Information

The Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has been awarded a $2.98 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation to increase student interest and engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by providing middle school students access to high-quality STEM curriculum that supports hands-on, real-world learning from PLTW. February 29, 2024, is the application deadline for this grant to fully implement a PLTW Gateway program in your school regardless of school size or locale next school year.  

PLTW Gateway (6-8)

Learn more in the resources below about the proven STEM curriculum, available in English and Spanish, that allows students to engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges, to use and stretch their imaginations in brand-new ways, and to connect their learning to life and real careers.

The grant application is straight-forward, but one requirement that you need to act on quickly is to watch this "virtual visit" overview of the PLTW Gateway program to hear from teachers, see students in action, and learn more about the curriculum.
