Commercial Astronaut, Actor, and PLTW Aerospace Teacher Headlines 2018 PLTW California State Conference

Register today for the 2018 PLTW California State Conference, featuring commercial astronaut candidate, actor, and PLTW Aerospace instructor, Pete Freeland. Freeland has spent more than 25 years working on the space shuttle, space station, X-vehicles, and satellites. He’s served as a civilian test pilot after a U.S. Air Force career flying aircraft like the B-52, B-1, and EA-6B. Recently selected for the first class of commercial space astronauts, Freeland is currently training for a 2019 suborbital space mission to perform research related to the upper atmosphere and greenhouse gas studies tied to global warming.

Freeland’s successful acting career has seen him featured on shows such “Criminal Minds,” “Outsiders,” numerous commercials and feature films. The PLTW California State Conference is Jan. 22-24 in Riverside.
