*Steve Johnston has been a technology and engineering teacher for 28 years. He teaches at *<https://www.lacrosseschools.org/logan-high/>*[Logan High School](https://www.lacrosseschools.org/logan-high/)** in La Crosse, Wisconsin.*

The Project Lead The Way [Digital Electronics](https://www.pltw.org/our-programs/pltw-engineering-curriculum#curriculum-7) class at Logan High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin, partnered with Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, to design and build the Logan Ranger Autonomous Vehicle (AV).

The vehicle was designed and fabricated in the Logan HS Technology & Engineering Department. It can be controlled from a remote transmitter and navigate to a destination using a Live View system with a wireless link to a GoPro mounted on the vehicle. The AV has a GPS system with software that allows the vehicle to be controlled by a computer or Android-based phone.
