Glade Montgomery is a lifelong educator who, prior to joining PLTW, served for 29 years in public education in Indiana. During that time, he held roles as teacher and administrator, most recently leading as the superintendent of schools in LaPorte, Indiana, where he was active on numerous community boards, including co-chairing the 2012 United Way campaign in LaPorte County. While in LaPorte, Glade focused on improving student achievement using school-wide data teams, implementing a district and community task force to contest issues of drug and alcohol use, and creating a collaborative working environment for all employees.
Since joining PLTW in 2013, Glade has served as Vice President of the East Region and Senior Vice President of Partnerships, guiding teams to grow programs in the Eastern United States and developing partnerships with businesses, universities, and industry.
As Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, Glade manages the office of the President and CEO, including supervision of the office staff. He provides leadership to PLTW through thought-partnership, whether actively participating in idea-generating sessions, proactively pursuing roundtable discussions, leading focus groups or promoting continuous improvement and enhanced capabilities in every part of the organization. Glade serves as an executive-level ambassador for PLTW, building strong and sustainable relationships, attending conferences, meetings, and other events that can provide exposure and creative opportunities to advance PLTW’s mission.
He received the 2010 Norbert Nelson Outstanding Educational Leadership Dissertation Award from Purdue University, and was selected Administrator of the Year by the Indiana Association of Office Professionals in 2009.
