Statewide Competition/Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)
San Diego State University (SDSU), a PLTW University Affiliate, offered a statewide Design Challenge competition for students in the IED course.
How to Use
Your school can view the competition that SDSU held in collaboration with Chevron and create one of your own.
Middle and high school students involved with PLTW can enter a statewide Engineering Design Challenge in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania State University Berks develops an Engineering Design Challenge competition for school teams of students involved with Gateway To Technology, Introduction to Engineering Design, or Principles of Engineering. Each year the challenge is different and multiple types of awards are presented to the school teams. Students must use the engineering notebook to document their ideas, build the product that meets the challenge criteria, and present their product to the other teams and a panel of judges.
How to Use
School, region, or statewide competitions could be developed for students involved in any of the three PLTW programs.
To submit a promising practice for consideration, please complete the Promising Practices Submission Form and email it to [email protected]. If your promising practice is selected, it will appear on the PLTW website for others to view and implement.
