Each Academy is a week-long immersive science experience, including content sessions to deepen your understanding of key concepts, and behind-the-scenes access to Smithsonian collections and cutting-edge science at world-class research facilities. Three optional graduate-level credits are available for each Academy.

Leading the STEM Charge: Illuminating the Potential in Aerospace

The AIAA is looking for motivated students to participate in the inaugural Leading the STEM Charge: Illuminating the Potential in Aerospace event on July 31, 2012. Held in conjunction with the 48th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit and 10th International Energy Conversion Engineering Conference in Atlanta, Ga., this event will give you a unique opportunity to present your interesting aerospace projects to professionals, learn about aerospace college and internships, and win prizes.

2012 ASEE K-12 Workshop on Engineering Education

The ASEE K-12 Workshop on Engineering Education takes place on June 9, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas, and is an energizing, interactive day focusing on advancing K-12 STEM education in the classroom. Learn about hands-on, innovative, effective ways to integrate engineering education into the STEM classroom. Count on new knowledge and best practices, fun ideas for lessons, useful take-away materials, networking opportunities, and a program document stating hours of completion. (Depending on attendee's institution, hours can be applied toward continuing professional education credits.)

NFPA Fluid Power Challenge (NFPA Education and Technology Foundation)

The NFPA Fluid Power Challenge is a skills competition that challenges students to solve an engineering problem using fluid power.
