  University of New Haven
 The University of New Haven (UNH) is a coeducational private institution located in West Haven, Connecticut on 78 acres containing 25 buildings. The university offers 80 undergraduate and 30 graduate degree programs in six schools. The School of Engineering and Applied Science offers degree programs in nine fields: chemistry, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, general engineering, industrial engineering and mechanical engineering. Master's of science degree programs and graduate certificates are offered through the Graduate School in several engineering fields. The Department of Education in the College of Art and Sciences offers master of science degrees in education for teacher preparation for those who wish to obtain certification as well as professional education for those who are already in the field.

The University of New Haven through its School of Engineering and Applied Science became a PLTW National Affiliate in  2001.
 

PLTW Summer Training Institute

NOTE: Teachers from NH, MA, CT.
If you are from one of the three coalition states (NH,MA,CT), you must attend training in your state or if the course in not offered one of the other New England Training Institutes:
New Hampshire Technical Institute, University of New Haven, Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Courses and Schedules

You may attend a different site under the following conditions:
1) If and only if the course is not offered in the coalition states
2) You present a valid circumstance you can not attend. (Must be approved by the local affiliate director).

College Credit For Summer Training:

  • Teachers may receive UNH Graduate College Credit for all courses in the PLTW program by meeting requirements.

College Credit For High School Students:

  • Secondary school students from any PLTW-certified school may apply for UNH college credit for each eligible PLTW course [IED 2 credits, DE 3 credits, POE 3 credits and EDD 2 credits]. Students must receive at least 80% average in the course and 70 or above on the college credit exam. The cost of tuition will be $200 per course. Students must meet the college enrollment requirements for UNH majors. UNH engineering programs evaluate the acceptability of these credits similar to evaluating other transfer credits.
