| The
partnership will explore mutual interests in the development of assessments
for pre-engineering education based on emerging industry standards,
collaborate on the validation of contextual knowledge and skills assessment
for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Career
Cluster and develop specific assessment instruments to support the courses
of the PLTW program and the validity of earned post-secondary credit with
colleges, universities and industry. “This collaboration with Project Lead The Way is consistent with our mission and program goals,” said Dr. John C. Foster, President and CEO of the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute. “The potential benefit to students, schools and colleges, universities, and ultimately to American industry, is significant.” “We look forward to this emerging partnership with National Occupational Competency Testing Institute,” noted Richard Blais, Project Lead The Way Executive Director. “The congruent alignment of assessment with rigorous and relevant curriculum and instruction is an essential element of learning but it is not a simple task to achieve.
