Located in historic Norfolk, Virginia, the Old Dominion University campus stretches from the Elizabeth River to the Lafayette River.
The university was founded in 1930 as a division of the College of William and Mary and is now one of only 101 public universities with a Carnegie/Doctoral Research-Extensive distinction.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)

Room And Board: Registration Cost: $2200. Housing Cost: $65 per night includes PREMIUM-SINGLE ROOM Suites: Bed is made, pillow and comforter/spread also provided, and fresh towels are provided daily. All halls are air-conditioned and wireless w/all bathrooms contained within the individual suites. Night hall security. Hotel Information will be provided also. Meal Details: Meal Cards are provided at the per diem rate of the School District (if needed). Cancellation Policy: After the reservation has been made through PLTW for a seat in a PLTW Core Training course the teacher, school, or school district representatives have a period of 10 business days to cancel the reservation. An invoice will be sent after the 10 day cancellation period to the billing contact specified on the teachers PLTW registration. The invoice must be paid in full after the cancellation period including course registration and housing, and as specified on the teacher registration through PLTW. If for some reason the teacher registered for the ODU PLTW Core Training course is not able to attend the training, the reservation is transferable to another teacher by the school or school district within the course during the ODU PLTW Core Training session. Fees paid on behalf of a participant who fails to attend the training will not be refunded.

College Credit For Summer Training

College Credit For High School Students

Secondary school students in Virginia may receive college credit in Old Dominion University's Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Engineering Technology programs for eligible PLTW courses:

  • Any PLTW Course = Engineering Fundamentals Engn 110
  • Any PLTW Course = Engineering Fundamentals Engn 111
  • Computer Integrated Manufacturing = TBA
  • Digital Electronics = TBA

*Additional, possible credit scenarios are to be determined.
Students can receive credit by completing each PLTW course with an average of "B," by having been enrolled in a PLTW-certified high school, by scoring a 70% or higher on the PLTW college credit exam, and by meeting Old Dominion University academic eligibility requirements.
