At MSOE, theory is brought to life and reinforced for students through extensive integration of laboratory experimentation. Understanding theoretical concepts and knowing how to apply them is key to the success of MSOE graduates.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is an independent university with about 2,400 students. Established in 1903, and celebrating its 101st year in 2004, MSOE provides a climate for students to become well-rounded, technologically experienced graduates, and highly productive professionals and leaders.

MSOE has a small university atmosphere within an exciting city environment. The 15-acre, user-friendly campus is located in a historic district in downtown Milwaukee, just blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan. There are dozens of student activities, organizations, sororities and fraternities, and intramural sports. MSOE students may also participate in 20 intercollegiate sports from basketball to hockey.

MSOE offers a personalized education with an 11-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. Classes are taught by professors with key employment experience in their respective field, not teaching assistants. The university has a four-year graduation guarantee for on-track students, and a post-graduation placement rate of 97 percent over the past five years. Students gain invaluable experience through more than 600 laboratory hours, professional internships, study abroad programs, and work in the Applied Technology Center™.

MSOE offers 16 bachelor's degrees and six master's degrees in the engineering, engineering technology, architectural engineering and building construction, computer, business and health-related fields.

Milwaukee School of Engineering became a PLTW Affiliate in 2004.

"STI Registration is Currently Closed"

College Credit For Summer Training
Teachers may receive graduate credit for PLTW STI courses taken at MSOE by meeting the appropriate requirements.

College Credit For High School Students
Secondary school students from a PLTW certified school may apply to MSOE for transcripted college credit for the PLTW courses POE, IED, DE, CIM, and CEA. In addition to being from a PLTW certified school, the student must have an average of 85% or better for the course, have a completed course portfolio, and have a grade of 70% or better on the PLTW college exam and pay the required tuition . The student will receive 3 quarter credits for each of the courses taken that meet these requirements. MSOE will accept transcripted credit from other Affiliate Universities for these courses. Substitution of a particular PLTW course for a course in a particular program will depend on the program curriculum in force at the time of admittance to MSOE. This decision will be made by the program director.
